P4V800D-X 8800gts 512 Black screen no POST

Hello all. I just got this motherboard a few days ago and was wondering if there is any reason I can't run an 8800gts(92) with this board? The PC doesn't even post and the monitor light is amber. The board will boot fine with a 6800Ultra. I know it's a 16x slot at 4x speed. So, I would think I would be able to. Has anyone else experience this problem?

I was going to post my specs but I didn't think it mattered with this issue since it works with the below video card. I guess there is the question of hardware compatibility though. But, here they are:

3.4Ghz Intel HT, Asus P4V800D-X mobo, VIA PT880 chipset, 1gig of DDR1 dual channel, Catalina sound card, one 7200 80 gig HD, one DVDROM, 550 watt pwr supply and an Nvidia 6800Ultra(256Megs of RAM). I want to use my Nvidia 8800gts(G92)video card but the above issue is occuring. It's my PC I wanted to use to watch mkv files and Blu-Ray but I don't that will even happen when I get my 8800 card in there. I'd still like to get the 8800 working anyway though.
