I see so the 9800 series is going to replace the 8800 ultra and gtx. Hopefully with this new launch, the existing 8800 series price would drop.

I hope so too, I would like to upgrade again in the future, this 320Mb GTS is fine for now, but not as powerful as I would have liked.

I dont think the prices will drop significantly, simply the cards will disappear before you can even think to buy one.
And of course Nvidia launches the x800 like they did with 5800 6800,7800 and waits for ATI to see if a x900(9900) or x950(9950) is needed. The 8000 series didnt need a 8900 wasnt necessary, AMD/ATI werent "there" this time.
Im curious if AMD/ATI will make the 4xxx series at the 9xxx Nvidia series aparition, at least at high-end level because 3870 is ok in mainstream until now.

Ive only just got an 8800 GT so i doubt i will upgrade to a 9800 until a cheaper version comes out such as GT or GTS and when ill need it really be about a years time id guess. The 9800 GTX is due Q1 roughly February rite?
