Yep, I checked it out and it's free. Free membership, the game is a free download, and the online play is free! Combat Arms - Online FPS Action

From the FAQ's:

"Is there a subscription fee?
There are no subscription fees for Combat Arms. It is free to play and download. You can frag others as much as you want without worrying about some guy who paid for a "Win" button.

Really? How do you guys keep the servers on?
Combat Arms features a wide range of customization options for your character, convenience items, and more. These can be purchased with GP (in game money) or Nexon Cash. Nexon Cash is real world currency used for all Nexon Games.

So do I need Nexon Cash to play?
Nope. You never have to spend a penny to play and enjoy the game. Paying users are not given an advantage in gameplay. If you want to be great at Combat Arms, play hard!"

It's like the gameplay of UT2K4 with the scenery of Frontlines. Maps are not big. Haven't seen any driveable vehicles yet.

You get 9,000 GP (game cash) to spend when you start. You can buy weapons, armored vests, sunglasses, etc. When that runs out you have to buy Nexon cash with your real money, but I have yet to use any GP $$. And as you play and earn XP (for wins and kills, etc) you earn more GP $$ too.

The graphics are not killer but are good. Scopes work well on sniper rifles. Your standard loadout is good. Played Team Death Match for a couple hours last night, pretty fun little game! Give it a try! Chris.

Well it's a fun little game, good thing it's free because it is kinda buggy. Nothing major tho.

But, so much for that anti hacker stuff. This game is hacked already, and some of these guys are really stupid. One guy last night was flying in the air, upside down, then got behind a wall and was shooting the opposing Team as they respawned. We all told him what we thought of him, then I reported this sad stupid fool at the game's Forums. I'm sure he'll be back with another name.

Oh, you can start your own match, and set all the options that you like. And find your Friends where ever they are playing. A lot of nice features, I hope they patch it a few more times. Soon! Chris.

Having some issue here while trying to play the game and get the following error

Alright, managed to log in but then some of the server is full and whenever i try logging into a moderate server, it would always show failed to log it and then i was kick out of the game.

Anyone know why? Is there patch to patch the above issue?

Having issue when i posted for help but now i'm able to log in and access the game online, btw nice game in between too bad i'm alway gun down

You have to start on the recruit server until you get a higher rank. Then move to a regular server.

The past 2 days they have been doing server maintenance and when they do they take all the servers off line for an hour to several hours.

You get any and all patches the first time you play the game.

Watch out for cheaters. There are a lot of them. Join a server/ channel that is Moderate or Low and you have a better game. Chris.

I didn't install any patches. I play those that is low or moderate and just a few minute ago, there's a group which is based on individual killing, only mainly on knife, lol imagine knifing each other without rifle, lol. Managed to kill a few though, right now my status is T, haven't got any rank yet
