Default Introduction to the Car PC Forums

Welcome to the newly released VIA Arena Mini ITX Car PC Forum, I
am going to be on hand for the next month to answer some of your
questions and queries. I am interested to hear your news,
views and comments about the Car PC scene, so hopefully we can get
some interesting banter going.

I shall be checking these forums regularly to see what’s
going on, don’t be afraid to PM me if you feel you want to
share something irrelevant to the general chatter, if I feel that
there is something useful to the community, I will post it up as a
separate thread.

Don’t be afraid to ask, and remember – there’s
no such thing as a silly question…

Great! Glad to see someone wiling to answer questions.

Sooo... It seems just about everyone involved withCar PC projects uses 7" LCD screens with a native resolution of 800x480 pixels. But begging and pleading has not resulted in VIA releasing BIOSes and Windows drivers to support this resolution natively. Can you help out, or do you have contacts to bring this to VIA's attention?!?

You might like to check this post on the mp3car forums. I agree, native widesreen support is a bit of a pain, and considering that a lot of devices are making the transition to widescreen format, I feel it is a priority for VIA.

Here is the post

I will bounce a few emails for you and post any replies!

Thanks
