Make sure the onboard sound is enabled in BIOS. Is there a speaker Icon in the lower right corner of your screen? If you left click, where is the volume slider set? What color is the plug in the back that the speakers are plugged into? Should be light green. Check Device Manager for any yellow ! and tell me what they are.
Please also let us know the maker and the model of your main board and what version of Windows you are using. Chris.

Hi Chris,
I follow all your suggestions but it not succeeded.
My system board is Intel D815E Series with PIII processor and Windows XP Professional Version 2002 with SP2.
This is a Enter PCI Sound Card with VIA 5.1, 6 Channel output and Chipset VT1723+1617.
As per the above threats, the Hardware id shown in device manager on Multimedi Sound Controller with Yellow, the chipset is PCI\VEN_1412&DEV_1724&SUBSYS_00000000&REV_01. After installation, with Envy24 Family Audio Controller (WDM) the chipset is PCI\VEN_1412&DEV_1724&SUBSYS_FFFFFFFF[/b]&REV_01. The chipser id changes every time i reinstall.
The found new hardware wizard arises every time i restart the machine. So that i need to reinstall the driver again and again.
Thanks

Try going to the website for the maker of the card and get the recommended drivers from them.
Did this ever work correctly? Chris.

I'm also having problems with a PCI card, I've tried the manufacturer's drivers with no luck. The card is identified as VEN_1412&DEV_1724&SUBSYS_00000000, that doesn't look very good I'm afraid. Any suggestions?
