Still same problem.
Tried the Seagate Tools disc instead and it said I had bad sectors on the disc during the DST ( Disc Self Test ). Don't know why my other machine didn't find them :-/ .
Ran the repair function on the tool disc and after that the test ran without a problem.
That was all I had time for this evening. I'll see if I can install Ubuntu when I get home from work, now when the disc is "fixed".
