Tks pal but before u guys reply, i've went to bought the lappie to ide converter today and right now i'm recovering the data for the guy (shouldn't have say backup since the files somehow corrupted and he couldn't access all the data though he can see the hd)
He's using a samsung 2.5 hd, initally when i plug it into the converter, it says something like
media error xxx
I notice it has the option of setting as master, slave or cable select but due to the fellow didn't pass me the jumper so no matter what i did i just couldn't to get the hd to be detected not to mention recovery the data.
Out of desperation.....guess what i did??? LOL... i used the jumper of a ide hd and though it fix but somehow is a bit too big due to it's height and somehow the converter couldn't totally slot in due to the jumper blocking cos of it's size, no choice i used a cutter to cut the jumper into half and used it on the converter and this time it works.....yeeehaaaaww ..... gosh, lucky it didn't exploded.
Could be due to using my P3 pc and the backup of data was transfer to a external usb 3.5 case which is why it seems abit slow. Lastly tks for the help guys, u guys are great and i know i can always depend on ur knowledge and expertise
