Agere Systems, Inc., a Delaware corporation, with offices in Texas, filed the suit in March of 2006 against Sony for storing headers in music files on a memory chip in Sony's mylo Personal Communicators, network Walkman audio players and PlayStation Portable. | Microsoft Confirmed IE8 Final Delay Friday, November 21, 2008
If you an Internet Explorer lover and desperate to have your hands on the final release of Internet Explorer 8, then this news might disappoint you. Microsoft has confirmed a delay yesterday on an IEBlog post. The earlier official deadline for the final release of IE8 was 2008 end but they can’t make it! In the first quarter of 2009, Microsoft plans for one more public update and will then follow that up with the final release.
“Microsoft officially set the deadline for the final version of Internet Explorer for the end of 2008, and never gave details beyond that. We noted in September that, according to the IE8 Beta 2 support page, prerelease versions of IE8 would no longer be supported come November 1, 2008. Earlier this week I noticed that that date had changed to December 31, 2008 and speculated that the final release of IE8 wouldn't be on time.” – MSDN Blog. | |

| @Me dot com | |
| | Location: Blogs John Gatt's Babblings |
 | | Posted by: John Gatt | Tuesday, August 19, 2008 9:34 AM | iTunes has advertised the Apple @Me service to me a couple of times, so I thought I’d give it a spin. If you don’t know what @Me is, it’s iTune or Apple’s solution to Gmail but it’s meant to have more features than just email. It supports Contacts, Photos and general item storage – up to 20GB can be stored in your @Me account. Although they offer a free 90 day trial, it does have a US$99 per year price tag and there is no option for a free version. It’s all or nothing after the 90 days. The whole idea behind @Me is for flawless synchronization between your work PC, Home PC and mobile device – aka the iPhone. First impressions of this service are that they need to do a lot of work to bring it up to scratch. It’s slow and the POP email section of it is nothing short of pathetic. Although your @Me email has a spam filter connected to it, your POP email does not. So if you use this web email service to try and synchronize all your email accounts, you’re in for a lot of messing around. The forums are plagued with complaints because it only supports one POP account and because it does stupid things, like if you want to leave the messages on the server to download on your main PC later, it will download them all again the next time you open @Me if you haven’t downloaded mail on your main PC in between. So on the first day, I ended up with 50+ duplicates of emails and an unsynchronized email account that duplicated my iPhone, POP and @Me emails. And it didn’t do any type of spam filtering either! At this stage, I will continue to try @Me over the 90 trial period. It seems to be an OK way to synchronize your contacts. It will automatically synchronize them online, without having to actually have my iPhone plugged into a PC. But I think that once I have my main contacts sorted out on my iPhone, I’ll be looking for another web-based mail program to sort my email synchronization out. | | | Permalink | Trackback |
