OCC takes a look at the Philips 200XW 20 inch WSXGA LCD Monitor and finds something slightly unusual. The monitor comes with a USB type-B port. But it's simply a passive USB connection for the USB socket on the side. "So if you hook it up to a USB2 device, the monitor USB port is USB2, and if you go USB1, it's USB1. Maybe one day there'll be USB3 and then you can get really excited!" Check out the review @ OCC.

The trend in the IT world is toward all things green. Okay, maybe not all things. But there is definitely a strong emphasis on changing things around to make it more environmentally-friendly. German researches have found that Irish businesses can make huge savings on electricity and drastically reduce their annual CO2 emissions by simply switching from PCs to thin client network computers. Dr. Hartmut Pflaum says, "While PCs consume about 85 watts on average, thin clients including their server get by with 40 to 50 watts. In view of climate change and the need to reduce Co2 emissions, this is an important factor." Get the rest of the story here.
    
InkShow Release for the Amtek T770

Gottabemobile's InkShow review of the Amtek T770 UMPC is finally up and running. Despite a few bugs in the system, the overall performance was considered quite good. It comes with a 1.2 VIA processor, 40GB hard drive, webcam, and Windows Vista Home Premium. You can download the InkShow video in a variety of formats or just watch the embedded video here.
