A new HD audio Application Note has been released which describes how to install the audio driver for HD audio controllers in VIA south bridge chip VT8237A, VT8251, CX700(M/M2), and HD audio codec VT1708 under Debian 3.1r4 (2.6 kernel), Fedora Core 4/5/6, Mandriva 2006.0/2007.0 and Red Flag 5 Linux. Another option is provided, to patch from the VIA HD Audio Driver for Fedora Core 6, OpenSuSE 10.2, Ubuntu Desktop 6.10 and kernel 2.6.19-rc6. Step-by-step instructions for each method and a comparison of their respective features are provided. |
