ThinkComputers.org were at CES this year and they have a pretty in-depth article covering the Lunch at Piero's event. S3 had their goods on display: "One thing that is special about it is that it can playback both HD-DVD and Blu-Ray titles via a HDMI out on the card. They had a demo unit setup with an internal Blu-Ray drive and an Xbox 360 HD-DVD drive connected VIA USB. Using WinDVD 8 they are able to easily playback both formats and output them to any display with a HDMI port. This capability really makes the card ideal for HTPC users, especially when prices of both HD-DVD and Blu-Ray drives come down. The card is available now and you can get it for $70 so it's a steal!" |
