DDR2 RAM boosts performance of thin clients
"Neoware has upgraded several of its Linux-based thin clients with more and faster memory, and has also added a factory-installed wireless option. The new DDR2 RAM in select models is claimed to provide up to 25 percent faster performance, with no increase in price. Neoware says the Linux and Windows CE versions of its c50, e90, and e140 thin clients now come with a minimum of 256 MB of RAM, while the Windows XP Embedded versions start at 512 MB. In addition to providing faster performance, the new memories are said to consume 10 percent less power. All three models are powered by Via processors. The c50 is clocked at 400 MHz, the e90 at 800 MHz, and the e140 at 1 GHz." Read on at LinuxDevices.com.
