Yesterday, in a post on the official iPhone developer site it was announced that the company has decided to drop the non-disclosure agreement (NDA) for its iPhone developers. Apple imposed the NDA norm in order to protect their work and prevent leaks of the company’s secrets and formulas but now they have decided to relieve the burden of the NDA.
Note: Apple is only dropping the NDA for released products; for products which are still under development an NDA will remain until they are released.
“We put the NDA in place because the iPhone OS includes many Apple inventions and innovations that we would like to protect, so that others don’t steal our work. It has happened before. While we have filed for hundreds of patents on iPhone technology, the NDA added yet another level of protection. We put it in place as one more way to help protect the iPhone from being ripped off by others.” – Apple.
