VIA has been getting really busy with its latest partnership. This time VIA has joined forces with First International Computer Inc. according to CENS. The mutual goal is “to launch a budget-price laptop using VIA's C7M processor.” This affordable notebook computer is being marketed at only US$199 and is available at Wal-Mart. What’s more is that “Taiwan's own CPU makers are also keen to grasp the opportunities brought by low-price laptops. VIA Technologies Inc. and RDC Semiconductor Co., for example, have developed products which, they hope, will help them establish a foothold in the global market.” |
