HTC Touch Diamond Vs Apple iPhone 3G

Conclusion:

It’s very difficult to give a conclusive judgment as to which is the best 3G phone. It’s also a battle between  the two operating systems that have moved in to the mobile segment. I am not a big fan of HTC mobiles but I fell for this Touch Diamond and I am very much impressed by its design and features. On the other hand, Apple’s 3G iPhone created hype even before it was released. The earlier iPhone was a huge hit but it lacked 3G which has been incorporated into this version.

Both the HTC Touch Diamond and Apple iPhone 3G are great phones with cutting edge technologies but at end of the day, value and affordability matters. The Touch Diamond priced at $780 is a hefty amount to pay for a smart phone when a similar phone is priced at $300. Yes, the Apple iPhone 3G  is priced at $199 for an 8GB version and $299 for a 16GB version (subject to phone/3G plans), which takes it miles and miles ahead of Touch Diamond in terms of value for money.

There are some features left out on the Apple iPhone, but it has one strong aspect that really pays off and that is the Apple Store. Instead of paying a heavy amount for the Touch Diamond I would prefer to have the choice of all of the applications on iTunes for the iPhone – something that goes a long way to catch up with the Touch Diamond’s feature list. If you think that price is not a concern, take a look at this specification table and pick out your choice - but my choice will be the Apple iPhone 3G.
