The Zune software can also connect your PC to your console. You may want to use the Zune software if you use it to catalog your music and videos. This software solution works fine for both XP and Vista users. In order to connect to your Xbox you must have the Dashboard update 2.0.5766. You can check to see if your dashboard has this or a newer update by opening the system tab and clicking the console settings button. The Dashboard version will be displayed there.

How to Turn on Media Sharing in the Zune Software

Open the Zune software on your PC.

Click Settings in the upper right.

Click Sharing.

Click Enable Media Sharing with the Xbox 360.

You can choose to share Music, Video, and Photos. You can also limit sharing to your Xbox console exclusively or to any that may appear on the network.

When you’re finished click OK.

Now that you’ve enabled Media Sharing in the Zune software, you can go back to your Xbox 360 Dashboard, select the Media tab, select Computer and find your media items.
