This is not only my first ever visit to the Consumer Electronics Show it's also my first ever visit to Las Vegas. I didn't realize it was so big. I imagined the “strip” to be one long wide flashy road that you could walk down in about half an hour but it actually takes about ten minutes to go from one end to the other on the monorail.

Although I'm not one to judge since I don't have a previous point of reference, I think the show seems a little quiet and plenty of veterans of the show agree. But the booths and the manufacturers themselves seem unphased. There's a lot to see, including some very classy presentations from major players in the PC industry, plus smaller booths from gadgets and accessory manufacturers. By the time you see your hundredth iPhone cover you've seen enough of them though, so we won't bother boring you with them.

What we've tried to focus on today is stopping and doing videos on things that really piqued our interest. What we've ended up with is quite an interesting mix of things. Today we look at iPhone accessories from SCOSCHE, Swiss Army Knives with a difference, Bond-style watches, VIA mini mini-notes and all sorts of things from Intel.

Since we do a lot of iPhone application videos we stopped by SCOSCHE and asked, what are your most unique products? They turn out to be very practical things which solve annoying problems you might encounter with iPhone and iPods. Here's the video:

Then a particularly shiny booth caught our eye – shiny with blades! Victorinox have been making boy scouts smile for 125 years with the standard Swiss Army knife but some of their latest models have tech built in as well. In this video we take a look at a small knife that features a flash drive with finger print security, plus a Bluetooth interface and pointer. They also make knives set out to appeal to certain people and the video looks at the rescue knife and one for geeks.
