You may have already heard of the brand name CyberLink. CyberLink is well known for PowerDVD and a number of other software applications like, PowerDVD Copy, PowerVCR, PowerPack, PowerCinema etc. The newest invention of CyberLink is MediaShow 4. CyberLink MediaShow 4 is an all in one solution for managing, enhancing and sharing photos and videos. Using MediaShow 4, you can transfer your media content from digital cameras in just a few clicks. I particularly liked the option to upload photos and videos directly to Flickr and YouTube. It also has a stunning next-generation 3D liquid Interface. The software costs US$49.95. Features at a glance
- View your photos and videos
- Edit and add effects to your photos and videos
- Create screen savers and slideshows with your photos
- Create stylish and professional looking movies with your videos
- Upload your videos directly to YouTube and Flickr
- E-mail photos and videos directly from CyberLink MediaShow to your friends
- Create DVD discs with your photos and video
The Interface CyberLink MediaShow 4 has three main modules, the Photo, Video and DVD modules. When you start the application, a dazzling splash screen appears with the three options to choose from.

Function Buttons:
On the top of the main window, you can see a set of function buttons which can perform a variety of useful tasks instantly. Tray Panel:On the right hand side, you can see the tray panel which displays the media you can add to an album or view in a slideshow or include on DVD etc. When you click on any of these media items (picture or video) you will see a thumbnail of that media item in the tray panel. If you want to hold the item, just click on the Hold button to hold the media items so that the held items can be used later and if you want clear held items from tray panel, just click on the Clear button. Library Panel:The Library panel on the left hand side allows you to organize your media to keep better track of it. MediaShow 4 creates folders whenever you import any media and the contents of folders also get automatically updated if change the source content. The Library panel consists of Albums, Folders, and Tag section which you can create, edit and delete at will. You can add tags to your photos and videos to make it easier to search for specific media later. Media WindowThis is the section where you can see thumbnails of all the media that have been imported into CyberLink MediaShow. This window offers you several options. Just right click on a photo or video to list all the available options. Below the Tray panel you can see a slider which can be used to dynamically resize the thumbnails in the Media Window.
Search Your Media with Ease If your computer is messed up with a huge amount of media items, there’s no need to be panic! The MediaShow 4 interface integrates a search function which lets you search your media files by simply entering a few keywords. The Search function is located in the top right of the program window. Highlight your FavoritesWhen you add photos or videos to the Favorite media folder in Albums, you can easily view them or add them to a DVD in just a few clicks. You can drag and drop a file into the Favorite Media folder or you can right click on a file and select Add to Album... > Favorite Media. But the simplest way is to select the files and click on the Star function button. Importing Media to the Library
Just like Windows Media Player, when you start the application for the first time, MediaShow will ask you to import media files so that you can use them in the program. If you want to import more media after this initial setup, follow these steps:
Click on the Import button. Click on the Select Source drop-down menu and select Browse.
Select the folder you want to import from the browse window.

Click OK. The contents of the folder will be displayed in the Source panel Click on the Import All button to import all the media in the specified folder or select the specific files you want and then click on the Import Selected button. To keep a record of this import, you have the option of filling in a form. Fill in the information or leave it blank and click on OK.
Once the media are imported, click on the Done button, then click on the Back button to return to CyberLink MediaShow’s main window. |
