| | | Wednesday, May 07, 2008 | | Guide to Windows Photo Gallery
By Jason Frye @ 4:22 AM :: 5866 Views :: 1 Comments :: :: Windows Vista Guides | | The Photo Gallery software makes it easy to burn a CD or DVD video of your favorite pictures. Once you have your photos on a disk, you can share them with family and friends more easily. The photo video gives you the ability to create a menu similar to what DVDs use before you begin playing them. - Open a folder of photos in Photo Gallery.
- Select all the photos by hitting Ctrl + A on your keyboard.
- Click Burn in the toolbar and choose Video DVD from the dropdown menu.
- To add more photos to the DVD, click Add Items in the Burn dialog window, navigate your hard drive to additional photos, and select the ones you wish to add.
- The video DVD window shows you the order of the photos on the disk. You can move photos up or down using the blue arrows in the toolbar.
- Label the disk.
- Click Next.
- Select a menu style from the sidebar options.
- Select Menu Txt from the toolbar to update the video gallery options. In this option, you can overlay text onto the photos in the video mode, change the link text, and update the disk title. The changes you make are previewed in the sidebar. This step is optional.
- Click Change Text when finished.
- Select Customize Menu from the toolbar to add foreground video, background video, and menu audio to your photo video. The addition of a foreground, background, or audio file only appears on the menu screen, not throughout the Slide Show.
- Choose the button style to use for the menu screen.
- Click Change Style when finished.
- Select Slide Show from the toolbar.
- From this menu, you can change the photo duration during the Slide Show presentation, add music to the video (not the same as adding menu audio), and choose from a variety of transitions between the photos. You can also select the checkbox to pan and zoom photos during the Slide Show.
- Click Change Slide Show.
- Once you have the video file setup, insert a blank DVD into the DVD drive and click Burn.
Conclusion
Photo Gallery gives users easy to use tools for manipulating digital photos. The gallery includes photos from default locations on your hard drive to make it easy to sort, rate, and tag your pictures. The features could be improved with more tools like the ability to resize images, but for what the application does do – it does it well. |
