You can create more than three profiles in software, but the mouse only stores three due to the amount of memory on the mouse. This screen allows you to swap between the profiles stored on your mouse and any other profiles you may have set in the software control panel.
The macro software which is also included, allows for the recording of both keyboard and mouse clicks. These recordings can be assigned to a specific keystroke on your keyboard, or button on your mouse. Multiple macros can be recorded. Macros essentially allow for several things to be done with one simple press of a button. For instance, change to sniper rifle, zoom in scope, fire, zoom out scope and change back to shotgun - with the press of one button. This can give you a real edge over your competition, who probably has to do it all manually. Pros - Impressive software bundle
- Unique color scheme options for mouse lighting
- Impressive speed modification features
- Built-in memory for custom profiles
- Braided USB cord - no battyery changes required
- Adjustable width for comfort
- Adjustable weights
Cons - Price - at US$70-80 it's about the same price as a lot of people's video cards!
Conclusion Finding the right mouse, with all of the great features of the Logitech G9 Lazer mouse, does come at a price. Logitech took all of their customer feedback from previous mice and put them to work when they designed this one. This mouse is in a feature bracket all its own. I've never seen a mouse with so many customizations in not only the feel of it but the software as well. I can't think of an application where you would not be happy using the G9, whether you are a hardcore gamer or an office worker. If comfort and features are important to you and price is not an issue, the G9 is one of the best mice on the market today. And if you are looking for a great present for a gamer, look no further. The G9 is top notch. |
