How to Trim Audio in Movie Maker
Movie Maker makes this operation quite simple. You find the end of the audio clip and hover over it. A divider icon should appear. At this point you can drag the audio clip back towards the left to cut the length.
Quick Tip: You can also lengthen audio clips by selecting the clip and dragging it to the right.
Adding Titles to the Photo Movie
We now have a photo movie approximately 35 seconds in length, but there are no identifiers for the film. If someone stumbled upon the clip they wouldn’t have any idea what it was about. We need to add a title layer to the film.
- Select Titles and Credits from the task list on the left sidebar.
- Select Title at the beginning.
- Movie Maker lets you enter a title then a subtitle that displays later in the animation. We added “My Awesome Niece” as the main title and “Her Early Years” as the subtitle. Type the title you wish to be added.
- Select Change the title animation if you want to choose something different than the default “fade in and out” effect. I liked the moving titles, layered animation. Select the one that suits your photo movie.
- Select Change the text font and color to adjust those settings.
- When completed, select Add Title to include it in the timeline.
A title can add meaning and value to a video, but it can also be useful for driving traffic to websites. If applicable you may want to put your blog address, your website URL, or some other identifier into the title. If you so choose, you could add that information to the credit section. |
