The Google Docs Toolbar
The toolbar houses common word processor features, like Save, Rename, Print, but also includes some new items for many users. You can export the document as a number of different file types, including HMTL, RTF, Word, OpenOffice, PDF, and Text. Google Docs does not have its own proprietary document format, but utilizes common file types to provide flexibility for users. This means you can also import those file types into Google Docs without any problem. For instance, the Word documents that clutter your hard drive can all be opened in Google Docs, with no conversion required.
From the toolbar, you can also Edit, Insert, and view Revisions of the document. The Edit tab gives you all the tools you need to manipulate the text within the document, like making text bold, italic, aligned left or right, etc. The Insert tab lets you add more advanced items to the document, like a header, footer, bookmarks, and hyperlinks. Let’s take a look at how to add a bookmark to the document.
