With Yahoo mail, there is another step before you can send and receive mail.

  1. Select Tools > Accounts from the toolbar.
  2. Choose the email account that was just created, and then click Properties on the right.
  3. Click the Server tab .
  4. Check the box that says “My server requires authentication”.

  5. Click the Advanced tab.
  6. Check the box that says “This server requires a secure connection (SSL).
  7. Enter “465” in the “Outgoing mail” field.
  8. Check the box that says “This server requires a secure connection (SSL)".
  9. The Incoming mail field should automatically change to 995.

If you cannot download your mail due to a connection problem, then you may need to double-check your account login and password information. Also, be sure you followed the steps carefully. A single mistake in an entry would negate the connection.

Now let’s get started adding contacts, creating new emails, and organizing incoming emails.
