Do you Hate Windows Aero? How to Turn off all the Features

Some of us are fundamental believers that change may not be for the best. I understand. I do. For those who cannot be convinced of Aero’s benefits, you can turn off Windows Aero. It is very simple do to.

  1. Right click the desktop and select Personalize
  2. Choose Window Color and Appearance.
  3. Select the link at the bottom of the screen entitled Open classic appearance properties for more color options.

    4. Turn off Windows Aero by choosing the Vista Basic appearance setting. This will remove the window animations, Aero Glass, and everything else.

Conclusion

Windows Aero provides users with a sleeker, more user friendly environment. The useful and utilitarian variables make for a friendlier user session, if the computer hardware can handle it. If your hardware cannot perform up to speed, then simply turn off the features that become sluggish and use the ones you like. Tweaking Aero is very simple to do and can make your Vista session much faster.
