Get Blogging!

After this setup procedure you can start blogging. On the Blogs tab and scroll down to Your tkArena Blog and click on Add Blog Entry. The form for adding blogs is also very straight forward but here's a run down, from top to bottom:

Entry Date: The date will be automatically displayed in the format you chose earlier and the date and time will also automatically show the current date and time for your time zone.

Parent Blog: If you have set up Child Blogs, you’ll need to select which one you want this post to tbe listed under. If you don’t have Child Blogs, just leave this setting as it is by default.

Title: Give your blog entry a heading.

Summary: Leave blank.

Blog: This is where you write out your blog. You can use the Rich Text Editor which comes with buttons like a word processor or you can click on the radial button to change to Basic Text Box. When you click on Basic Text Box, three options appear at the bottom of the Blog entry box: Text, Html or Raw. Most bloggers will stick to the Rich Text Editor since it provides access to insert hyperlinks and images, as well as a spell check facility.

Upload Options: Don’t use this.

Linked Files: Don’t use this.

Entry Options

Published - tick this to make it live and viewable to other people. If you're not sure how it will look you can leave this unchecked, click Update and then take a look for yourself before re-entering your blog entry to tick this box and make it live.

Allow users to comment on this entry - Event though you have choices about accepting comments or not when you set up your blog, with this setting you can make an exception for an individual blog entry. If you don't want anyone to be able to comment on this particular blog entry, leave this box unticked.

Display copyright notice at the bottom of this entry - Claim the blog entry as yours by ticking this box or just leave it blank.

Trackback URL: You can use trackback URLs to maintain a list of other blogs that are linked to your blog. Mostly, just leave it blank.

Click Update and your blog will be posted!
