Download and Installation

QuickTime is one of the most downloaded pieces of software from Apple’s website. Apple offers a free and a Pro version of the QuickTime player. The free version is also available either with iTunes or without iTunes. It is better to download the QuickTime player with iTunes because iTunes is a not only a player but also a store where you can download music, movies, TV shows, iPod applications, audio books etc.

The installation file for QuickTime with iTunes is a large file of 64.06 MB and it took me almost 30 minutes to download it. When the setup file (.exe) is saved to your system, double click and gradually proceed through the installation process after accepting the license agreement.  When installation finishes, all the audio and video files on your system will become part of your iTunes library.

Using QuickTime

If you have downloaded the QuickTime player with iTunes then you can play your media files using either the iTunes player or QuickTime. The two programs are seamlessly integrated, although you can also open QuickTime by itself. So the dual package gives you a choice of player and easy access to the iTunes store.
